Recommendations & Credentials

The Recommendations & Credentials Office has recently partnered with Interfolio to provide a better file management service for the students and alumni of the University of Colorado. For more information about this change, please see the links listed below.

Current Fileholders
If you currently have letters of recommendation in an active file with the Recommendations and Credentials Office (i.e., opened or renewed within the last 7 years), the partnership with Interfolio will not immediately affect your account. We will continue to mail out your file upon request. No yearly renewal fees will be charged. Instead, all files will be maintained and serviced until the seven year file agreement expires. After seven years, you will be notified of the impending file purge. You will then have the option to have your file transferred or destroyed. Please keep your file updated. If there is no current address in your file, it may be destroyed without notice.

Transcripts
To order transcripts, please visit the easy-to-use online transcript ordering service: http://registrar.colorado.edu/students/transcripts.html. For other transcript questions, you may call 303-492-8987 or e-mail transcripts@colorado.edu.

How to Open a New Credentials File with Interfolio
It's easy to open a file with Interfolio. Go to the Interfolio Login page and click on the box that says Sign Up. Follow the prompts. You will need a valid credit card to open the account. The cost is $19 per year or $39.90 for three years or $57 for five years (includes three free mailings). For assistance, click on the Help button at the top right of the Interfolio home page.

How to Transfer an Existing File to Interfolio
Open a file with Interfolio by following the easy instructions above. To transfer your CU file to Interfolio, fill out the Credentials File Action Request Form (PDF). Our office will then mail your credentials file to Interfolio. Interfolio has annual account fees for which you will be responsible. These fees are very comparable to the fees that we charged when we provided the service.
