Freshmen and Sophomores

Your first two years of college are very important and a great opportunity to actively pursue your dreams or to explore what those dreams might be. If you are in your first two years at CU, Career Services has many resources available to you. If you have not declared a major, consider meeting with a career counselor to further explore your areas of interest and career possibilities. If you have already declared a major, meet with a career counselor to explore internship opportunities. Don't let important opportunities pass you by! The following checklist is a good place to start:

Ideas to get started:

  • Register on CSO to obtain updates on career events and internship listings.
  • Study and adjust to college. Consider taking a study skills workshop through the Student Academic Services Center.
  • Get to know your academic advisor and professors.
  • Think about ways to build your resume, including student organizations, volunteer work, and extracurricular activities.
