Annual Career and Internship Fairs

At Career Services we are continually updating and improving and this upcoming year will be no different. Career Services is planning to implement some new programming in the 2014-15 school year. The UMC ballroom will be under renovation and unavailable until March 2015. This poses a problem for hosting a large career fair, as there is not another space available on campus that is cost effective for either employers or Career Services.

We have also heard from our student and employer constituencies that they would like us to host more targeted events instead of holding a large, all-encompassing fair. With that in mind we are going to use this renovation as an opportunity for an experiment around career fairs on campus. Our goal is to create a more informal environment for students and alumni to interact with employers, bring a wider diversity of employers to campus and help students, alumni, and employers target specific jobs or industries.

Fall 2014

Meet Buff Employers

Meet Buff Employers will be a series of 6 career events focused on specific industries and job categories. You will be able to attend a session if your company is in an industry that we are focused on that evening, or if you have jobs to fill within that category of positions.

For example, if you work for an accounting firm, or if you work for a retail company but hire accountants, we would encourage you to attend the "Money, Products & Sales" event. We ask you to determine which sessions you would like to attend and encourage you to attend multiple sessions.

Please contact Molly Bandimere at 303-735-6577 with questions regarding the following.

4:30pm - 6:30pm Meet Buff Employers in S350 and Abrams Lounge in the Center for Community. Cost is $40 per representative.

There will be no large tables or displays and instead we will have designated areas around the room for each organization. Employers will have the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves at the beginning of the event to share what your organization does and what types of candidates you are seeking. Career Services will target marketing to students and alumni based on employers attending each night.
