Looking For a Job?

Beginning July 1, 2011, alumni will be allowed two free career counseling sessions. There will be a $30 fee for each additional session, for up to four sessions. Alumni are allowed a total of six sessions per year.

Career Services Online (CSO) is our online jobs database of positions posted specifically for CU-Boulder students and alumni. It includes a career events calendar, job search database, interview schedules database and ability to create job agents that are emailed to you based on your own criteria. There is also a searchable employer directory of all employers who have worked with us since we launched CSO in 2005. *(The interview schedule section is primarily for students about to graduate or recent grads.)

Gaining access to CSO is free to ALL CU-Boulder alumni as of July 1, 2009. This was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Career Services and the CU-Boulder Alumni Association. Call our Help Desk at 303-492-4100 or e-mail career@colorado.edu (Christine Maidl) with your student id number to activate your account. Registrants will receive the Career Services Update, a weekly (during the academic year) compilation of career-related events and services. Access CSO here.

Resume Referrals are done at a company's request and can include your resume if you check this option off when you create a profile in CSO. Also, you must have a resume uploaded into CSO to be included in a resume referral. If your resume is referred, you'll receive notification.

Career Fairs and Career Panels are open to alumni. For details and dates, please view the Career Events section of our website here.

Employer Presentations are a great way for alumni and current students to find out more about an organization in an informal atmosphere from someone who works at the company. Check our events calendar, or view in the Career Events section of CSO for more details.

Can alumni apply to internships listed in CSO?
Alumni are eligible to apply for PAID internships only (unless the position is working for a non-profit).
Non-profits are able to classify alumni as volunteers.

If an internship is unpaid then legally the intern has to receive credit or an endorsement from a school to participate in the program (the exception to this rule is if the internship is at a non-profit). CU-Boulder does not grant credit or endorsement to anyone in an internship after they graduate from the University. If you are an alum and you need to receive credit to participate in an internship you cannot go through CU-Boulder. Since we cannot support alumni in this capacity we suggest reaching out to your local community colleges what options they have for non-degree seeking students.
