Lisa Severy
Director
Lisa Severy has served as Director of Career Services since 2003. She has degrees from Indiana University and the
University of Florida and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. Lisa loves talking about the amazing
accomplishments of our students and graduates with employers, prospective students, and anyone else who wants to
know how incredibly valuable a degree from CU-Boulder can be! In addition to her fun at CU, Lisa has co-authored
two books, several book chapters, and numerous journal articles. She is active with the National Career Development
Association (NCDA) and currently serves as Secretary as well as being an NCDA Fellow.
Lisa Lovett
Assistant Director Employer Development/Internship Program
Lisa Lovett has two areas of emphasis: internships and employer relations. She is the main resource on campus
for questions about internships, best practices and laws. The rest of her time is spent finding employers to
hire CU-Boulder students and alumni. This is a great role for Lisa as she worked in recruiting and corporate
internships before she came to CU. Her favorite event Career Services hosts is the fall career fair because
of the non-stop action packed into one day. Outside of work Lisa enjoys traveling, eating, and running
(in that order).
Ro Medina
Marketing Manager
Ro Medina is the marketing manager for Career Services. She is responsible for graphic design, social media
marketing and implementing marketing strategies. She also writes the weekly Careers in the Buff student newsletter
and the Career Chronicle employer newsletter. She is involved with many committees within the office such as
Technology, Events Team, Career Fair Committee and chairs the Student Engagement Committee. Ro is involved
with Boulder 2140 and loves to paint in her off time. Her favorite band is Saves the Day, with Say Anything coming
in as a close second.
Michael Deragisch
Employer Development Specialist
Mr. Deragisch has the best job in the department. He works with an awesome team focused on making the employers'
experience here on the Boulder campus the best it can be. Period. Michael has been on the Boulder campus for over
35 years. Michael's background is in Communications - Interpersonal, corporate and broadcast. His job has gone
through multiple evolutions over the last 20 years, and never has it been better than NOW. Michael works Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays and is out of the office July, August and December.
Suzy Shotts
Events Coordinator
Suzann Shotts, "Suzy", is the Event Coordinator for Career Services. A background in events planning for civic
and fraternal organizations, has helped Suzy to put her touch on Career Services events. Suzy works to advance
opportunities for students belonging to protected classes and has helped on-campus organizations with external
relations and connections to the employer community. Suzy has presented at regional conferences on the topic of
diversity. An Outsider, Suzy works on employer development as well. If Suzy won the lottery, she would donate
to Colorado Special Olympics and the Kempe Center for Children and then travel the world studying history and
culture.
Dylan Mark
Internship Development Specialist
Dylan Mark first worked for Career Services as an undergraduate with the title
Internship Program Intern. As a graduate, he's moved into the role of Internship
Development Specialist and has become the main resource for employers seeking
information on internships on campus. He runs training seminars for internship
programs, answers internship questions, directs the CU-PIIE program and serves
as a bridge for employers to connect to CU. Outside of work, Dylan enjoys drawing,
going to concerts, and being outside.
Linda Faucheux
Associate Director for Counseling
As the Associate Director, Linda leads the Career Counseling Team and is dedicated to creating a Career Services Center
that acknowledges and cultivates each employee's individual talents and strengths. She is deeply committed to working
with undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni in developing the best of who they are and the best career
they can imagine. She is also passionate about teaching positive psychology and contemplative career development,
innovative approaches to counseling and mentoring, and in designing strengths based, collaborative approaches to
change management within organizations.
Ann Herrmann
Assistant Director for Student Programs and Career Counselor
Ann Herrmann plans career events to help students with their job and internship searches, and to explore their career
interests and seek advice from experienced local professionals. Ann enjoys meeting with all majors, especially A&S
students interested in exploring their skills and interests (especially using the MBTI and StrengthsQuest assessments),
and how they relate to the work world. She also has experience working with Engineering and Business students, as well
as Journalism, Communication, and International students. Ann also loves connecting students with alums and other professionals.
Ann has a BA in Psychology from CU-Boulder, and a Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from CSU.

George Hoey
Assistant Director for Diversity
George Hoey has been a member of the Career Services staff since October, 1999. He has held positions as
Career Development Coordinator, Career Counselor and Assistant Director for Diversity. He holds his MA from the
University of Michigan in Education with an emphasis in Guidance and Counseling. His top two favorite areas in
career counseling are networking and interviewing. Outside of the office George loves activities that help
improve health and wellness-especially if there is a racquetball game to be found. He loves family, diversity
work, cares about social justice issues and traveling the US of A. His favorite TV shows are live sporting events
and HTV programs. He'll smile and speak to you if you're walking across campus. You may see him anywhere.
Jon Schlesinger
Assistant Director for Career Counseling
Previously, Jon was
the Assistant Director for Career Development at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Jon graduated from The University of Kansas (B.A. Architectural Studies) and DePaul University
(M.Ed. Counseling). Prior to his work in Florida he interned and worked at University Career Services,
Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Jon has also worked in architecture firms in Chicago, IL.
He has been a camp administrator at residential summer camps in Wisconsin and Massachusetts as well as
a rock climbing instructor.
Sandi Rosewell
Assistant Director for Education
Sandra Rosewell is the Assistant Director for Education at Career Services. She counsels students and is
the liaison for the School of Education, the departments of International Affairs, Political Science, and
Pre-Law. Sandra sits on two boards at CU: The Restorative Justice Program Board and the Judicial Affairs
Hearing Board. A passionate horse woman, Sandra is a PATH certified therapeutic riding instructor.
Annie Piatt
Career Counselor/Outreach Specialist
Annie Piatt is a Career Counselor and Outreach Specialist. She is delighted to connect with students
through appointments and workshops she presents to campus groups and departments, including: CU GOLD,
CUSG, Environmental Center, GLBTQ Resource Center, Greek Life, Residence Life, Volunteer Resource Center,
and Women's Resource Center. She is Safe Zone trained. Annie studied Hebrew and Greek during college and
earned her Master's degree in Higher Education. She previously worked as a Human Resources Consultant
and now enjoys helping others find meaning in their educational pursuits, careers and lives. Outside of
work, Annie loves riding bikes, telemark skiing, and flying through the air on a trapeze. Some of her
favorite TV shows are Game of Thrones, Mad Men and SYTYCD.

Blair Fraser
Career Counselor
Blair Fraser is a career counselor working with students, Alumni, and serves as a liaison to the Athletic
Department. She has a master's in counseling with an emphasis in career CU Denver. Blair graduated from
Rice University in Houston Texas with a B.A. in psychology and business. While at Rice she was a
scholarship athlete with the Division I Tennis program. She comes to CU with over 15 years of corporate
experience, including being a consultant and working in program management and marketing for the
High Tech industry. She loves providing assistance to allow others to achieve their goals and tap into
their unique talents. Her favorite TV shows are Parenthood, Top Chef, and the PGA Tour. Outside of CU
she can be found spending time with her husband and two kids or obsessing over every single shot on the
golf course.
Cori Shaff
Career Counselor/Outreach Specialist
Cori Shaff is a CU graduate (Communication) from St. Louis, Missouri. With a graduate degree in Career
Counseling, Cori is passionate about helping students identify and use their strengths during college.
She is familiar with the wide variety of involvement opportunities for students and enjoys helping them
navigate CU. Cori coordinates outreach to academic departments in Arts and Science and works to help
students connect their liberal arts degrees to internships and careers and is Safe Zone trained. Her
favorite part of her job is supervising the Peer Career Advisors. Her favorite TV shows are Friends and
Glee. She enjoys cooking, the Opera, reading, Germany, and Volkswagens.

Jodi Schneiderman
Career Counselor/Program Manager for International Employment
Jodi Schneiderman is a Career Counselor and Program Manager for International Employment. Her goal this
year is to support international students on campus and US students seeking to go abroad. Jodi has worked
on Semester at Sea and lived abroad in South Africa. She possesses two master's degrees -
Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Community Counseling. Past work experience includes
Harley-Davidson and Third Way Center (a treatment center for adolescents). She is Safe-Zone trained.
Jodi enjoys the variety in her work the most. In her spare time, she enjoys volleyball, hiking,
snowboarding, and reality TV. Two favorite TV shows are Arrested Development and Six Feet Under.

Lea Alvarado
Alumni Career Counselor
Lea is a trained life coach and has a master's degree in counseling with a specialization in career development.
She has close to 15 years career counseling experience in corporate, non-profit, and university settings as a
career counselor, executive recruiter, and staffing manager. She has experience working with adults in
transition in both the aerospace and biotechnology industries and also has experience creating programs and
services specifically for alumni. Her favorite part of her job is helping people shift their perspective in
a way that decreases their anxiety and improves their confidence and sense of hope with regard to their job
search or career exploration process. Lea enjoys spending time in nature, listening to music and reading
inspirational literature.
Donna Lynch
Alumni Career Counselor
Donna has over 20 years' experience counseling diverse individuals in higher education, government, Fortune 500
corporations, global career management firms and private practice. She brings a strong forward thinking
entrepreneurial orientation having developed career management programs coaching adults at all stages in their
careers. Donna's experience serving on executive teams as HR Director and Employment Manager benefits her clients
by bringing front- line, real world credibility, business acumen and insider expertise to her career counseling.
She brings the philosophy that each of us is gifted with a unique blend of talents, strengths and passions that
are distinctly ours and lead us to best fit and career fulfillment benefitting one and the world of work.
Rachel Killam
Career Counselor for Engineering
Rachel Killam serves as a liaison to the College of Engineering & Applied Science, as well as Mathematics,
and Physics. She also enjoys providing career counseling for ALL majors. Rachel likes to help students network
in a way that feels genuine and loves to teach students how to understand their personality in light of major
or career options. Rachel holds a Master's in Counseling, is a Safe Zone Ally, and is certified in Nerdiness
& Laughter. Other fun facts: she blogs about gender equity issues, reads everything from Mental Floss to
classic novels to Tina Fey¡¯s hilariousness, and even a little e.e. cummings. She also likes to run, hike,
ride the bus, and hang out with her dogs, baby daughter, and spectacular husband.

Valentine Roche
Career Counselor for Graduate Students
Valentine Roche is a career counselor focusing primarily with graduate students. She has an exceptional
ability to identify her client's strengths which in turn influences their career decisions. Additionally,
she helps her clients create relevant career alternatives, as well as career transition strategies.
Valentine brings experience in coaching business leaders and professionals in the areas of career transition,
leadership development, self-confidence, work/life balance, productive relationships, creativity and creating
extraordinary lives. Valentine has a background in human resources, a master's degree in management/leadership
development and has taught workshops in high tech, education, and other business environments. She enjoys
hiking, photography and creativity as a painter and collage artist.

Cherie Wilcox
Assistant Director for Client Services
Cherie oversees the Client Services Team. She is very involved with many different aspects of the department to
include Career Buffs administration, Employer Relations, Leadership, Technology/Website, Student Engagement,
Credentials, Assessment and Events Teams and is co-chair of the Career Services Student Advisory Board. She
is also the liaison with the Business Career Connections and Journalism & Mass Communication Career office.
She loves spending time with her beautiful family, dancing and drooling over art. If Cherie had a time machine
she would love to witness dinosaurs in action (friendly ones).
Christine Maidl
Client Services Coordinator
Chris helps out at the Welcome Desk and performs administrative support tasks for the department. She earned
her BA at CU-Boulder, majoring in Communication and Classics. Chris is also a volunteer with the Longmont Humane
Society and earned her certification as a canine massage therapist at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bob, and their dog Sadie, a Treeing Walker
Coonhound (Tree Walker Hound for short). If Chris had a time machine she would love to see the buffalo (bison)
herds thundering across the plains.
April Abernethy
Recruitment Coordinator
April coordinates on campus interviews and is on several committees in the office. She helps connect employers
and students through various recruiting events hosted on campus. She has B.A. in Psychology from Metro State
University of Denver where she also worked in Career Services as well as the Counseling Center. She has a
passion for photography, the ocean, cold weather, and anything French. She loves spending time with her family,
fianc¨¦e and dog Jax. If she could go back in time to another era she would love to go to the sixties (1968 in
particular) or the roaring twenties.
Stacy Rosseau
Employer Accounts Coordinator
Stacy is responsible for organizing Employer Information Sessions, the CSVC 1000 internship class offered by
Career Services, and some background employer account maintenance in Career Buffs. She is also involved in various
committees in Career Services, including the Student Engagement and Events/Career Fair Committees. She enjoys
hiking, snowshoeing, arts & crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. If Stacy could go back in time,
she would visit the late 1800's or early 1900's to witness the wealth of changes that occurred during that time.
Annette Croughwell
Welcome Desk Coordinator/Receptionist
Annette is the Director of First Impressions at Career Services. She is the welcoming smile when you walk in the
door or call on the phone. She lives in Nederland where she raised two kids who are now college alums themselves.
She loves to hike in the mountains with her dogs and husband and create art. If she were to be able to travel in
time she would like to anywhere in any time where there is peace amongst humans and harmonious living with the
natural world.
Shayn Smith
Associate Director for Information Systems
Shayn Smith is in his 28th year at Career Services and serves as the Associate Director of Administration.
He began as a career counselor after receiving his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the Boulder campus. He is a certified astrologer and energy
healer. Shayn is also a singer/songwriter and has recorded numerous songs. His favorite band is the Beatles and his favorite Beatle is George Harrison with whom he shares the birthday February 25.
Jun Hong
Technical Support
Jun Hong is Shayn's assistant to provide IT support at Career Services. He graduated from Colorado State University
with a Master's degree of Computer Information Systems. He loves to introduce you to
anything about Chinese language and culture. Jun loves almost all kinds of sports, but his favorites are soccer
and skiing. His favorite band is from Hong Kong and is called Beyond.
Christen Cousins
Testing Coordinator
Christen Cousins is the Testing Coordinator in Career Services. In this role he handles National Testing such as
the LSAT and MPRE as well as private testing for University Students and the outside community. Besides being a
ten year veteran of the University, Christen is also a proud Husband, Father, Brother, and Son. His favorite genre
of music is rock.
Tiffany Mason
Accounting Technician
Tiffany Mason is the NIST/PREP Coordinator and Payroll Liaison for Career Services. She manages the three NIST
awards for undergraduates, graduates, and post docs. Additionally, she processes the payroll for the NIST awards,
the CIP program, the CU-PIIE program, the CPSD program, and the students and staff in Career Services. Tiffany
has earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting at Front Range Community College and is planning to go back to
school to finish her Bachelor's Degree in Finance starting in the summer of 2012. In her spare time, Tiffany
enjoys hanging out with her family, catching up on old math books, and reading about the Universe. Her favorite
genre of music is country.
